On The Trails of The Far West - 15 days
- Arrival Los Angeles • Departure San Francisco
- Day 1: Europe • Los Angeles
Rendezvous at airport. Check-in and flight to California. Arrival in Los Angeles. Transfer to hotel and assistance with check-in.
- Day 2: Los Angeles • Palm Springs (240Km)
Pick up motorbikes. Once the group is ready, we’ll set off for a scenic tour of the “City of Angels”. In the afternoon, we’ll cross the Mojave Desert in the direction of Palm Springs, where we’ll visit the famous Palm Springs Oasis. Night in Palm Springs.
- Day 3 - Palm Springs • Route 66 • Kingman (370 km)
Kicks off with a ride through Joshua Tree National Park (named by the Mormons who thought the branches of the unusual Joshua Tree looked like Joshua raising his arms to the sky in prayer). We’ll stop off at Roy’s Café on Route 66. Then we’ll head for “Oatman“, a genuine “Old Western Town“ where the burros hang on Main street. We’ll follow up to Kingman on Route 66 where we’ll spend the night.
- Day 4 - Kingman • Route 66 • Grand Canyon (390 km)
Once we’re on our bikes, we’ll set off to ride along the most historic stretch of Route 66 - from Kingman to Seligman. Later, Route 64 will take us to the foot of the majestic Grand Canyon. This is a visually stunning riding day, during which we will follow the Southern Rim, with its spectacular viewpoints. We’ll spend the night in a cozy Trading Post (an old trading centre for Navajo Indians and cowboys).
- Day 5: Grand Canyon • Monument Valley • Bluff (280 Km)
Today starts with a ride along the Colorado Plateau to Monument Valley, in the heart of the Navajo Indian Reservation. The Navajos will take us on a tour of their land in a pick-up, followed by a typical BBQ lunch with them in Rain God Mesa. After lunch we’ll get back on our bikes and head for Bluff, where we’ll have a well-deserved rest.
- Day 6: Bluff • Moab (200 Km)
We’ll set off to discover the wide-open landscapes of Canyonland National Park. As our journey continues, we’ll come to Arches National Park with its breathtaking natural arches, which were formed by erosion. Night in the south-western town of Moab.
- Day 7: Moab • Bryce Canyon (420 Km)
After a ride along a stretch of Highway 70, we’ll head for the famous Route 24, which will take us through Capitol Reef National Park. Once we get to Bryce, we’ll take the small winding roads leading to the Hoodoos, the rock spires named by the Pauite Indians. Western-themed evening.
- Day 8: Bryce Canyon • Zion National Park • Las Vegas (390 Km)
Today we’ll enjoy amazing panoramic views from the ridges of Bryce Canyon, and along the majestic valley of Zion National Park (famed for its magnificent sandstone cliffs, county borders, waterfalls, etc.). Our adventure continues with a route alongside the Virgin River, leading us to the paradise of gambling and entertainment, Las Vegas.
- Day 9: Las Vegas
Today you’ll be free to enjoy the incredible facilities offered by the hotel, or to explore the City of Excesses. “Ladies and Gentlemen, place your bets!” Night in Las Vegas.
- Day 10: Las Vegas • Death Valley • Furnace Creek Ranch (240 Km)
Stocking up on water is a must for our trip to Death Valley, famous for its sweltering heat. We’ll stop off at the best vantage points (Zabrisky Point, Furnace Creek, etc…). Our route will take us through Bad Water (at 85 meters below sea level), Scotty Castle, Stovepipe Wells, as well as the area’s famous sand dunes. Night in Furnace Creek Ranch.
- Day 11: Death Valley • Mammoth Lakes (330 Km) or Fresno (550 Km) (depending on whether the Tioga pass is open)
Drive through the “Panamint Mountains”, passing the famous ghost town of “Bodie” to arrive in the the Sierra Nevada. We’ll stop off at Mono Lake and the beautiful Mammoth Lakes ski station, where we will spend the night.
Drive through the Mojave Desert with a stop at Mojave, in the heart of the desert. We’ll continue our journey on a route through the San Joaquin Valley leading to the farming town of Fresno, where we will spend the night.
- Day 12 :Mammoth Lakes • San Francisco (425 Km) or Fresno • San Francisco (450 Km)
In the morning we’ll set off towards Yosemite National Park, on a route which will take us through the incredible Secoya and Ponderosa forests. Visit to Yosemite National Valley (and the Bridalveil, Yosemite and el Capitan Falls) and we’ll stop off to admire the Giant Sequoia. Drive through several ghost towns, which were founded during the gold rush. Late afternoon arrival in San Francisco.
- Day 13 : San Francisco • San Francisco City Tour
We’ll spend the day discovering the Bay City (Japan Town, Civic Center, Chinatown, North Beach, Lombard Street, etc). We’ll cross the Golden Gate Bridge and visit Sausalito. When we get back to San Francisco, in the afternoon, we’ll return the bikes, then back to the hotel for some free time. Night in San Francisco.
- Day 14 : San Francisco • Europe
Transfer to San Francisco Airport and assistance with check-in. Flight to Europe. Overnight flight with meals provided.
- Day 15: Europe
Arrival in home. End of our services. We look forward to seeing you again soon for new adventures !!!
