74th Sturgis Rally & North-West USA - 15 days
- Arrival Salt Lake City - Departure Salt Lake City
- Day 1: Europe / Salt Lake City
Rendezvous at Airport. Check-in and flight to Utah. Arrival in Salt Lake City. Transfer to hotel in minibus and check-in.
- Day 2: Salt Lake City /Jackson Hole (420km)
After picking up your bikes you’ll set off for a city tour of Salt Lake City (including Temple Square), where you’ll find out about the ‘Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints’ and the city of Brigham Young. You’ll then head out of Salt Lake City on a beautiful ride through the mountains which will take you into the state of Wyoming. Then you’ll ride through Teton National Forest to Jackson Hole, where you’ll spend the night. Stroll through this small Western town with evening entertainment and gun show included in the program!
- Day 3: Jackson Hole /Yellowstone (250km)
You’ll get on your bikes for a ride past Grand Teton, the youngest peaks of the Rockies reaching 3,600 meters in altitude and which were given their name by the French. You’ll continue via Moran Junction to the Yellowstone, where you’ll spend the night in a lodge.
- Day 4: Yellowstone
Visit to the world’s first national park (3,468 square miles), which provides a unique sanctuary for wildlife, including wolves, bears, elks, coyotes, bison and antelopes. You’ll see some of the 300 Geysers which make Yellowstone one of the most active volcanoes on the planet. Bigger than the island of Corsica, Yellowstone is the second biggest park in the USA after Alaska. You’ll spend the night in the park.
- Day 5: Yellowstone /Cody (280km)
You’ll cross Yellowstone to join the Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway, which will take you to Cody (the world capital of rodeo), where you can visit the superb Buffalo Bill museum.
- Day 6: Cody /Buffalo (295km)
You’ll leave Cody and head for Grey Bull, the name of a rare albino bison that after surviving the arrows of Native Americans was made a demigod. You’ll continue to the town of Worland, before crossing the Big Horn Mountains (the site of many Indian battles) to arrive in Buffalo, where you’ll spend the night.
- Day 7: Buffalo / Sturgis (290km)
Today you’ll head first to Sundance, which was home to Harry Longbaugh (the Sundance Kid), Robert Leroy Parker (Butch Cassidy) and Jesse James. Then you’ll get back on the road to South Dakota, where you’ll stop off at Devils Tower, the famous rock that was featured in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"! Arrival in the crazy town of Sturgis. Welcome to the world of bikers!
- Day 8: Sturgis
Visit to Sturgis, which is nestled at the foot of the Black Hills. Along with Daytona, Sturgis is the world’s biggest motorcycle rally, but the atmosphere is not really the same. This rally reflects the biker way of life: people from all walks of life getting together in a great atmosphere... an experience not to be missed! You are going to experience the real America. Visit of Mount Rushmore. Night on the outskirts of Sturgis.
- Day 9: Sturgis / Cheyenne (500km)
You’ll leave South Dakota, riding back into Wyoming en route to Fort Laramie, the famous site of the treaties signed between the Native Americans and Americans (1851 and 1868). Then you’ll continue your journey to Cheyenne (American capital of rodeo) where you’ll spend the night.
- Day 10: Cheyenne / Granby (280km)
This morning you’ll be heading for Colorado, riding through Rocky Mountains, which is the stuff of dreams for bikers! This is also where the Colorado River has its source. Night in Granby
- Day 11: Granby / Rocks Springs (440km)
This morning’s ride will take you between the mountains and the plains towards Walcott. You’ll witness the beauty of the Red Desert and the white dunes near Rawlins, which is encircles by mountains. Night in Rock Springs, in mining country.
- Day 12: Rocks Springs / Vernal (190km)
you’ll head for Flaming Gorge Recreation Area where you’ll see the Red Canyon Vista. Once you get to Vernal, you have the option of visiting the Dinosaur National Monument. Night in Vernal.
- Day 13: Vernal / Salt Lake City (280km)
Today you’ll follow the trails of the Pony Express on one of the most beautiful routes in North Utah, to arrive back in Salt Lake City (which the Mormons called ‘the New Jerusalem’. After dropping off the motorbikes, you’ll head to your hotel for a well-earned rest.
- Day 14: Salt Lake City / Departure
Transfer to airport and assistance with check-in. Overnight flight home with dinner on board.
- Day 15: Europe
